I'm moving soon and my life is all about rental prices.....

I'm just being nosey and wondering roughly what percentage of your take home pay do you spend on rent/mortgate a month?

I don't know whether I've got it all out of proportion..

On just rent excluding bills and all that palava its about 22%. Though I live in a garage so its cheap. With lecy and gas and water it moves up to about 30% - 35%

Just under half my pay covers the full rent and if I put my bills on top, council tax, water, electricity that would make it around half.
So all of Chaunce's wages are just for fun! And most people in London earn what me and Chaunce do all by themselves so I reckon you should be looking to spend a quarter on your rent and household bills.

Spend as little as you can and save to buy somewhere. That's what I'd do. There's no point lining other people's pockets.

Mine's 22% as well, although with bills and everything it's nearer 40, although that does include my gym membership and contact lenses.
Good to have you back, Miss. We must catch up soon.

I'm in the wrong job. And the wrong flat. And also the wrong town. My rent, plus LX, etc, is nearer 50%.
Is this why everybody else seems to have a much better time than I do?

oh buddy, I was hoping somebody would say 50 - that's where I'm heading too I think. I've always been a sucker for location location, so it's own silly fault.
